YEAR 3 HOME

~ Presentation Night, 2007 ~

For the first time in many years, Presentation Night came back to Dampier. After some 'wheeler dealing' by Mr Smith, we had a  good size stage erected free of charge, featuring a fantastic backdrop prepared by Mrs Crean and selected Art students.

A balmy summer evening under the stars with just the gentlest breeze, set the night off nicely and families made themselves comfortable on the grassed area as the sun went down.

The children were very excited. The boys aren't really being bad, they're just getting into character.

Our theme was "The TV Shows Our Parents Grew Up With" and our act was called "The Greatest American Hero Meets Wonder Woman". Joel was the little kid who doubted his own worth and instead, wished for the special powers of a Superhero. The Greatest American Hero appears to tell Joel how sometimes ordinary people are sometimes given extraordinary powers.

I wish I could be a superhero!

Come here son and I'll tell you a story.

Look at what's happened to me...

Suddenly I'm up on top of the world...

Believe it or not I'm walking on air...

Flying away on a wing and a prayer...

Joel is very impressed and wants to know more but the Greatest American Hero downplays himself and builds up his friend, Woman Woman.

I'm still learning about my powers...

Take a look what this woman can do.

In her satin tights...

Fighting for your rights...

In the old red, white and blue...

Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman!

Now Joel was really impressed with her display but Wonder Woman encourages him to try and find the hero inside of himself. Yeah!

Lots of our class members won book prizes. Congratulations go to:
