YEAR 3 HOME

~ The Choir & Dampier Idol at the Fete ~

The Dampier P & C's Fete was an outstanding success this year, with all members of the school community pitching in to make it a memorable one. The Choir performed three songs, "Proud Mary", "Eternal Flame" and "I Love Rock 'n Roll". While we were a little disappointed with the sound system, the group still looked great and performed well. The crowd's favourite  was definitely "I Love Rock 'n Roll".  Here they are:

Dampier Idol was a new initiative this year and heats were held in the last two weeks of term. Nearly 70 children participated and there was a nice feeling around the school as individuals, duets and groups practised for their heats. Six acts progressed to the finals, representing each of the Primary classes. Here are our budding 'idols', performing before a large and appreciative audience:

Act 1: Macie & Shae (Year 1)

Act 2: Ashleigh (Year 2)

Act 3: Shelby (Year 3/4)

Act 4: Zac & James (Year 4/5)

Act 5: Georgia (Year 5/6)

Act 6: Teegan & Ashleigh (Year 7)

Ryan & Sophie, our School Captains, were our comperes and Ms Sarah Stopher, Mrs Kylie Fox and Mr John Lally were the judges.

All of the acts were fantastic and no-one envied the judge's their decision. After a short consultation, the winner was announced and Georgia was awarded the crown of  "Dampier Idol" for 2005.

We'd like to congratulate all of the contestants - you certainly put on a super show!
