Children living in the Pilbara
are often isolated from extended family and can miss out on that
constant warm contact. We hope to offset some of this geographical
isolation by providing families and friends with the opportunity to share their
thoughts and feelings through our Home Page.

Emma's
grandparents sent us this message:

Hello
Year 3,
Our names are Heather and David and we are Grandparents of Emma
Brades and her little sister Amy (Year 1). We live next to a big
park in Carine. When Emma and Amy come to stay with us at
Christmas time, we sometimes walk to the train station and catch
the train to Perth. Then we usually catch another train to
Fremantle where we have fish and chips for lunch. Emma and Amy
enjoy going to the playground in the Park on their scooters and
they love to feed the kookaburras when they visit our garden.

This email
from Jahdal's grandparents arrived just after the Anzac Service:
|

|
Congratulations Mrs
Mitchell and Year 3!
What a wonderful
Anzac Service so beautifully hosted by Luci and our Jahdal. How
proud we are to see how sincerely you conducted such an
important and solemn occasion.
We thought that the
wreath laying ceremony was impressive and the choir looked
fantastic. Well done. We just wish that we had been there.
With love to Jahdal
and all of his classmates.
Grandad and Bess.

We received
this email from Jonty's grandparents, holidaying in Vietnam:
| Hello
Jonty, Mrs. Mitchell and classmates,
We are on holiday on the ship Gemini. Today we have been to the
Mekong Delta a major feature in this part of the world. We went
on a small boat called a sampan. We went down little canals where
water coconuts grew along the banks, it was lovely. We stopped at
a place where they made coconut lollies by hand. I will try to
bring you all a sample, they are very yummy. We are having a great
holiday. Today we sampled a true Vietnamese lunch, some of the
food was delicious but some we weren't too sure of. Some people at
the table thought that they saw something that resembled an eye.
It wasn't of course! We also had what they call elephant fish, it
wasn't at all bad and even the scales are cooked and were very
tasty and crunchy.
Till next time Love Nana Gray |
