Our "Marvellous Mysterious Me" Assembly We commenced our Assembly with a song dedicated to the Tsunami victims, wherever they might be.
We wore black and white to show our respect, waited silently and moved quietly while our candles were lit.
While we were waiting, we had some soft music playing to set the right mood.
Then we sang a very special song called "Light A Candle".
At the conclusion of this song we blew out the candles and returned to the normal Assembly format. Jack and Shelby were our hosts and a fine job they did too.
In class we had composed "I Am" sentences, where we imagined what we might be if we were things other than ourselves. Each class member presented his or her own in turn and for some of us, it was the first time we had ever held a microphone. Miss Walker and Mr Biddiscombe had their "I Am" sentences ready for when they were called upon, too.
Mrs Mitchell and Mr Biddiscombe announced the members of the 2005 Student Council. Harrison and Megan, our Student Council representatives, were invested with their badges of office.
We concluded our Assembly with a Community Song, led by Mr Verbeek. Everyone loved performing "Scooby Doo". You can certainly see the benefit of those Music lessons!
Well, that's the first Assembly out of the way. We've had so many lovely compliments on our performance. Here we are for the 'parent shoot' at the end and don't our silhouettes look great?
