AND, WHAT DID
WE LEARN?
Mischief is a young Black
Flying Fox. (Keeley)
When a mother gives birth,
she puts her wings under her legs to catch the baby. Mischief's didn't.
(Emma-Jane)
Today I learnt that
Mischief's mother accidentally dropped him at birth.
(Alice)
Mischief likes tomatoes,
bananas, plums and Mikayla. A bat's hands are rounded like a human's
are. (Ruby)

If a bat flies onto you,
do not move. Bats have very soft fur. Mischief is scared of birds.
(Mikayla)
Mischief's wings are like
fabric. He is not an orphan. Wild animals don't be naughty.
(Brock)
Mother bats keep babies
away from their fathers.
(Levi)
Mischief lives in a tent
with another bat who has a broken leg.
(Tayne)
Mischief's friend is four
weeks younger than him. A bat goes to the toilet upside down.
(Haddon)
You need a license to be a
Wildlife Carer.
(Jamie)
Rose raised her first
animal, a pink and grey galah, at the tender age of six.
(Mrs Mitchell)
A bat's wings feel like
leather. They can crawl.
(Chloe)

Mischief can't be released
until his wings are fully developed.
(Kelston)
Flying Foxes only eat
fruit and cherry tomatoes are a fruit.
(Jason)
Mischief loves bananas and
cherry tomatoes. (Callum)
Mischief had a long, pink tongue and sharp claws.
(Caitlin)

Mischief was excited to be
in our classroom.
(Jessica)
Even though he is still
only a baby, he can fly.
(Cameron)
Bats have big pouches in
their cheeks for holding their food.
(Brodie)
Bats know
what they like to eat.
(Lochlan)

It was wonderful to spend
time with him and Rose. Mikayla actually was responsible for introducing
him to cherry tomatoes and perhaps this is why he was so 'interested' in
her. It seemed fitting therefore, that Mikayla thanked Rose and Mischief
for sharing their time with us. He certainly is a cutie!
