~ Mother's Day Choir Performance ~
The Friday before Mother's Day we walked down to the Dampier Shopping Centre to sing for our 'Mums' in particular but all Mums in general and when we arrived, there was already a good crowd assembling. Thanks S.A.S.S. for letting us run our power from your shop. Here we are, all ready to go.
Georgia greeted everyone and announced that we would sing two songs, the first one about us and how we feel about our music and the second one, especially for our mothers.
We L-O-V-E singing "I've Got The Music In Me", it's 'boppy' and boisterous and just joyous good fun. Keah, Maddi and Sarah helped us out with some movements and Georgia provided the refrains.
The parents certainly enjoyed it!
We quietened down for the second song, the one we had chosen for our Mums, "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Georgia took over with that mature, powerful voice of hers, allowing us to come down an octave to join her on the final line of each verse. Several tears were shed!
After we finished singing, choir members delivered tissue flowers to mothers, kindly made by the Year 3s with their Year 6/7 buddies the week before.
Then it was back to school.
We'd like to thank Mrs Bette Inglis who ensured all was set at the Shopping Centre and our parents and friends who came to watch and support us there.
