S.O.S. AUSSIES

Talk about a captive audience! Our kids loved S.O.S. Aussies. From the moment the presenters started talking, they literally had the kids eating out of their hands. Each group of reptiles was presented with humour and warmth, even though a few of them showed their disdain in no uncertain fashion! And didn't the Year 6/7 guys relish their role as handlers. It was certainly a visit to remember.

Today we saw a show called S.O.S. Aussies. They had reptiles such as snakes, crocodiles, lizards, turtles and frogs. We got to touch and hold some of them. How COOL is that! We looked at some clothing which was made from crocodile skin. Oh, poor things! Then we finished by finding out how to bandage yourself if you've been bitten by a snake and a rhyme.

BRIANNA

On Friday we went down to the Undercover Area to see S.O.S. Aussies. It was fun touching the reptiles. My favourites were the pythons. They were long and dry, not slimy at all.

LUKE

At first I thought that one lizard, in particular, had two heads. I learnt that the Black Headed Python can get heat around its body by using its head. There were snakes, frogs, spiders, lizards, stick insects and CROCS. Agghhhhh! Just kidding, no-one got hurt by the little tackers. Now I know how to bandage your arm if you get bitten by a snake. Just remember: REPTILES RULE!

CHARLIE

I liked the part where we got to hold the snakes. Their names are: Lisa,   Bart, Homer and Marge. I liked Lisa because I got to hold her. There were crocs, turtles and lizards. I also liked the turtles because they reminded me of my pet turtle, Ima. There were only 2 or 3 crocodiles. The show was really entertaining.

ELLEN

Today our class went to see S.O.S. Aussies. There were snakes, lizards, crocodiles, turtles, even spiders and turtles in jars and insects as well!!! It was great! My favourite animal was the blue tongue lizard. It was awesome.

NIKKI

The ones I liked to touch the best were the turtles. They had very soft skin. I liked how they called the Stimson's Pythons Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa. One of the lizards 'pooped' a lot. Some were even spiky.

S.O.S.AUSSIES

I liked passing the turtles and Stimson's Pythons around. I even got 'weed' on by a lizard. I liked the crocodile that I saw and holding all the reptiles. It was exciting and the men were funny too. I even saw some spiders before I went back to class.

ASHLEIGH

Today when we saw S.O.S.Aussies, we got to touch, snakes, crocodiles, lizards and turtles.  It was fun! I really liked Tiny Tim the turtle. The lizards were soft and cute. Mike and Keith showed us how to wrap a bandage over a snake bite if we get bitten. One of the snakes liked me. I even got to pat a crocodile.
