The Stupendous
Steeplechase
| Our next
physical challenge for our Olympic Games theme was 'The Stupendous
Steeplechase'. Here's Mrs Mitchell's plan of the activity: |
| Everyone had
a practise run before they completed their time trial. We had plenty
of parents to help out with starting, time keeping and recording or
just to encourage and help keep us safe. Mrs Mitchell was on the
camera and found it pretty hard taking shots of such fast moving
targets. Here's some of the action: |
The
results were:
1st place -
Callum K (49.57 sec)
2nd place -
Brodie ( 51.35 sec)
3rd place - Amy

But everybody was pretty happy with their performance.
How did you go?

I
think I went better than ever I could on the Stupendous
Steeplechase. (Lochlan)

I
did really well up until the Sack and I couldn't reach the
Foxtail either. All the other ones were okay.

Good, I got the best time. I went the quickest out of the
whole class. (Callum K)

I
went good because I came third and I had so much fun! (Amy)

Very good but I got confused when I was trying to get out of
the barrel. (Jack)

What was the best thing?

The
best thing was the Shell Water Jump, where you swung over it.

The
Foxtail because when I bounced I hit the Foxtail first time.

The
Barrel because I got dizzy and it was fun.

I
think the best one was the Swinging Rope over the Shell
because it was fun and scary. (Kelston)

The best
thing was the Hoops because they made me go faster so that I
was ready for the Barrel.

What
was the hardest thing?

The
Gate and the Barrel because they were the trickiest.

The
Foxtail because I couldn't reach it and I had to keep on jumping.

The
Climbing Frame because it was hard but easier when I jumped.

The
hardest thing was the Gate because I had to bob down and squeeze
through. (Georgia)

The Gate was
the hardest because I snapped it on my first try.

Apart from the placegetters, who do you think did really well and why?

Harrison did very well but he missed one hoop so he had to go back
and do it again. (Cameron)

I think
Georgia because she is smaller which made her go faster in the
Barrel and Tunnel. (Alice)

Levi
because he cheered for everyone.

Alice
because she was persistent and tried very hard.

Samuel did really well because he only had one leg in the Sack.
