Mrs Thorne's Farewell

It was with great sadness that the Dampier School community said farewell to Mrs Thorne, after almost ten years of service and a decade of 'ministering' and 'mothering' to Principals, Deputies, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and students.

The Student Council presented a personal and heartfelt tribute to Chris on everyone's behalf at the last Assembly for the Semester, fittingly hosted by the Year Sevens. Each Councillor provided a snippet of information of how they would remember Mrs Thorne, from phone calls home when they were sick or had forgotten something, to how she greeted them about the school and those things they know she holds as important.

School Captains, Brennan and Leighton then presented her with a gift.

Many parents took the opportunity to say their goodbyes and some were able to join her for refreshments in the staffroom.
