The Final Assembly, 2007
The final Assembly for the year is always a bit of a sad one because there are invariably farewells to perform. Miss Yolanda Bell and Mr Aiden Fitzmaurice got us off to a bright and breezy start though, especially when they introduced the Pre Primary and Year 7 Buddies to perform “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer”.
Our hosts then called upon the departing teaching and non teaching staff to receive their Merit Awards, carefully composed and produced by the Student Council. When all the awards had been read, we stood as a school to sing “Thank You Very Much For Your Contribution.”
Mr Smith and Mrs O’Shea were then given their turn at the microphone before the Choir came on to perform two of their Christmas carols. But first, take a look at this - do these guys think alike or what?
Back to the Choir. The Senior kids jived and Jahdal was still getting stuck with all those unwanted gifts, especially the thongs that didn’t fit him!
The ‘Junior Choir’ came out to perform the piece that so delighted the Senior Citizens, “Away in a Manger”.
Then we all sang the last community song for the year, “Six White Boomers”, with the six prefects leading the procession. It was a perfect way to finish the year!
