Simile & Metaphor Poems
RHINOS by ZAC
Rhinos have very sharp horns They are as strong as 50-metre brick walls And as scary as giants I think they like to have their own food. They are as dirty as pigs at a sewerage farm And as fast as a flash going round a corner They eat like cheetahs running.
BUDGIES by EMILY M
Budgies are soft little birds They’re as cuddly as a blanket And as feathery as the inside of a pillow I think they’re as small as a star. They are as funny as silly clowns And as cute as baby wombats Yolanda’s bird is like a friend to me.
THE HOLDEN RACING TEAM by MITCHELL
The Holden Racing Team is my favourite It’s like thunder in my throat The engines roaring like my heartbeat I think they rule the universe. It’s being King of the Mountain Conquering Ford’s performance I like them like they’re the first cars on earth.
AUSSIES by CHARLIE
Aussies are not mossies They’re as cool as a pair of sunnies They are like a pack of fierce lions I think they are lucky duckies. They are like funny jokers As strong as two rhinos I hope they come first in the Olympics.
BUTTERFLIES by CLAIR
Butterflies are as light as feathers They are like paper bags floating in the air And are as beautiful as dancing spirits I think they are as small as stars in the sky. Sometimes they are as blue as tear drops I bet they love flowers swaying in the breeze Butterflies are so cool!
FOOTBALL by BRENNAN
Football is hard fun It is rougher than rugby And better than soccer I reckon it is a really good game. It is as exciting as the Olympics And as tiring as the Marathon Football is the best game I have played.
MY NANA by NIKKI
My Nana spoils me She is as sweet as a cherry She is as big and soft as a teddy I love her heaps. She snores like a sleeping bear She is like a tree in the breeze She is the best Nana in the world.
KIWIS by LEITH
Kiwis live in the third coldest country They are almost as cold as the South Pole They would be like frozen ice blocks I think they are cold statues. They wear big smiles though They are as big as the All Blacks I wish I could live in New Zealand.
